These in person Introductory Workshops and Series focus on the fundamentals of Modern Jazz Dance based in the Simonson Technique. Emphasis on proper alignment, injury prevention and sequential, fluid use of the torso and spine are included. Rhythm, simple sequencing and complete warm up are included as well as learning a short dance. Come with your curiosity, the pleasure of dancing and discovering, reconnecting to your body, and having fun!

Is Modern Jazz appropriate for me if I have never studied dance before?
Yes! It is designed and appropriate for absolute beginner adults.
Is Modern Jazz Dance appropriate for me if I have danced before, but not recently?
Yes! It is designed and appropriate if you are returning to dance- whether it's been a few months or many years.
What do I wear for classes and do I need any props?
Comfortable workout apparel is best.
Tank tops, t shirts, yoga pants or leggings are all appropriate.
Modern Jazz class is best taken in socks or bare feet. Flat, soft sole Jazz dance shoes can be worn also, but are not required.
